“I was born with the devil in me. I could not help the fact that I was a murderer, no more than the poet can help the inspiration to sing.. I was born with the evil one standing as my sponsor beside the bed where I was ushered into the world, and he has been with me since.” “I was born with the devil in me...”

Our NEW 1886 T-shirts have arrived. This time sporting a iconic image of Herman Webster Mudgett , better known as HH Holmes. On the front of the shirt we have the state of NH and text reading 1886 Barbershop, NH Born. Not only was Holmes born in NH but he was executed in 1896, 10 years after our building was built.
Holmes was born in Gilmanton NH on May 16th, 1861. At the age of 16, Holmes graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy and took a teaching job in Gilmanton and later in Alton NH.
In 1886 Holmes moved to Chicago where he later opened his " Murder Castle" built with elaborate torture rooms, which contained soundproofed walls and mazes of hallways, some of which seemed to go nowhere. Many of the rooms were outfitted with chutes that would drop straight down to the basement where Holmes had acid vats, quicklime and a crematorium to dispose of his victims' bodies.

T-shirt are limited in availability and sizes range from Med -XXL
Your's for only $20, + shipping or available in shop for pickup @ 1886 Barbershop.
We also have hoodies, men's tank tops and long sleeve T's available all with the same print.
